Sons File For Father’s Former Bryan City Council Seats

Two members of the Bryan planning and zoning commission are running for city council positions once held by their fathers.

Reuben Marin, who is also on the Bryan Business Council, is a third generation Bryan resident who says he wants to follow his father in representing single member district one. Joe Marin served two terms, between 2001 and 2007. Reuben is a salesman for the international food condiment company Mizkan Americas.

Prentiss Madison, who previously served on Bryan’s parks and recreation board, is seeking the single member district two seat held by his father, Paul, for 11 years…from 2001 until 2006 and again from 2007 until 2013. Prentiss lists his occupation on his election filing form is a manager.

The filing period for the Bryan and College Station city councils and school boards continue through August 22nd.
