Son Arrested For Murdering Father In Mexia

MEXIA, Texas (AP) _ A Central Texas man has been charged with killing his 86-year-old father who initially was reported as a missing person.

Karl Benjamin Nussbaum was being held Monday on murder and tampering with evidence charges in the death of Harold J. Nussbaum of Mexia (muh-HAY’-uh).

No attorney information was immediately available for the 47-year-old son, who was in the Limestone County jail with bond topping $1 million.

Sheriff Dennis Wilson says investigators believe a family argument led to the killing. The sheriff didn’t released details or a cause of death.

Mexia police on Friday issued a missing persons advisory for Harold Nussbaum after another relative reported him missing.

Police on Saturday arrested Karl Nussbaum on burglary charges from Austin.

Information from the son led to his father’s body found near Lake Mexia.
