Sleet Pellets For Some On April Fool’s Day…No Joke!

Your April Fool’s Day may have included seeing…or getting struck by…sleet pellets.

The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Houston explained a very dry layer of air above the ground helped to make the pellets.

The NWS had a comprehensive explanation on its Facebook page for those wanting more information.

No precipitation…liquid and/or frozen…was recorded Monday morning at Easterwood Airport.

Other NWS reporting stations also reporting no precipitation included Hearne, Brenham, Conroe, and Palestine.

As of early Monday afternoon, the NWS reporting station at the Huntsville airport was not available.
