Identities Released in Shooting Outside Snook Apartment Complex

The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office has released the identities of those shot in the parking lot of a Snook apartment complex early Sunday morning.

Killed was 31 year old Marcus Carroll of College Station.

Critically injured was 33 year old Antwan Heslip of Bryan.

Treated for injuries and released was 24 year old Anthony Allen of Caldwell.

19 year old Broderick Grba of Bryan, who was arrested at the scene and charged with murder, remains in the Burleson County Jail in lieu of $1 million dollars bond.

Investigators say the shooting followed a verbal altercation in the parking lot of the Cotton Village Apartments off FM 60. What caused the altercation has not been determined.

An unrevealed number of handguns were recovered. The number of shots fired and if anyone else discharged guns shots remains under investigation.

No one else was shot and there was no property damage.  Residents of the complex were allowed return to their apartments Sunday night.

On January 6, 2013 at approximately 2:36 am, the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office received several 911 calls regarding a shooting that had taken place at the Cotton Village Apartments, 10048 FM 60E, in Snook.

A verbal altercation took place in the parking lot of the apartments between four subjects and escalated into this shooting.

The four subjects involved were:
Marcus Carroll, 31, College Station, deceased
Anthony Allen, 24, Caldwell, treated and released at St Joseph in Bryan
Antwan Heslip, 33, Bryan, critical condition at St Joseph in Bryan
Broderick Grba, 19, arrested and charged with Murder, being held on 1 million dollar bond at the Burleson County Jail in Caldwell.

Investigators recovered handguns at the scene.

Multiple agencies responded to assist the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office with this incident including the Texas Rangers, Texas DPS troopers and forensics mapping team, District Attorney investigator Brian Taylor, Precinct 2 Constable Dennis Gaas and Somerville Police Department.

Monday morning update: Broderick Grba, 19, of Bryan, has been arrested and charged with murder.

There is currently no bond.

Grba was previously arrested for armed robbery at a Snook convenience store in October of 2012.

One man is dead and two are wounded after a shooting took place around two-thirty Sunday morning at the Cotton Village Apartments in Snook.

The two injured are being treated at Bryan’s St. Joseph Hospital, and an additional subject has been detained by the The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office.
