Scotty’s House Child Advocacy Center Introduces Sawyer

Scotty’s House child advocacy center, which serves abused children throughout the Brazos Valley, now has a facilities dog.

Director Cary Baker, who is the fulltime handler for Sawyer, says he can be at any stage of what children are going through.

Baker says this is another way Scotty’s House can make the process of an abuse investigation easier on the child and their family.

Baker says Sawyer will also be part of Scotty’s House outreach efforts.

Sawyer, who is an LGX breed, a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Golden Retriever, was donated to Scotty’s House by the Canines for Independence organization.

The facilities dog spent two years in an extensive training program before joining Scotty’s House.
