From the College Station fire department’s Facebook page about a house fire near Rock Prairie and Victoria on Saturday:
On Saturday afternoon, the College Station fire department responded to a structure fire in the 3400 block of Mustang Lane.
Fire crews were summoned after a neighbor noticed smoke coming from the residence.
First arriving crews made entry to the house and began searching for the source of the smoke.
After gaining access to the attic, fire was found and extinguished.
The situation was brought under control within approximately 20 minutes due to the quick action of the 20 #firefighters, in 8 apparatus, that responded.
Crews continued to remain on scene to assist with removing valuables and covering furniture to prevent water damage from fire extinguishing efforts.
Thanks to CSFD’s Community Action Response Team) who was requested to assist in providing temporary shelter, food, and other necessities to the residents until permanent arrangements can be secured.
Additionally, thanks to College Station Police Department who assisted in scene security while fire crews worked on extinguishing the fire.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
More information will be released when a cause is determined.
