A College Station man who has two addresses spent part of last weekend in jail after he was arrested on an animal cruelty charge. The College Station police arrest report says a dog left behind in an apartment being subletted by 21 year old Fernando Arellano-Sanchez was underweight to the point that each vertebra, individual rib bones, and pelvis could easily be felt. The dog was found by the roommate covered in urine and feces and had overgrown nails curling towards the paw pads. An animal control officer got a warrant to take the dog to Aggieland Humane Society for care and future adoption. The arrest report does not say if Sanchez gave an explanation for what happened. Sanchez is out of jail after posting a $5,000 dollar bond.
Bryan police arrest a 17 year old and two 14 year olds on vehicle burglary charges that took place Sunday night. The arrest report of 17 year old Andy Erik Ybarra says after 9-1-1 dispatchers issued a report of a stolen car, it was found in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The officer who found the stolen car also watched the suspects pull on door handles of neighboring parked vehicles, with two of the vehicles having been entered without permission. The arrest reports do not say if the stolen car or the vehicles that had been entered were unlocked. Ybarra was also charged with engaging in organized criminal activity, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and evading arrest. Ybarra remains in jail as of August 5th in lieu of bonds totaling $29,000 dollars. The unidentified 14 year olds were also charged with organized criminal activity, three vehicle burglaries, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and evading arrest.
