Romei Wants to Leave Texas

A controversial local figure has decided he wants out.

The Brazos County Community Supervision and Corrections Department says P. David Romei has obtained approval from a judge to leave Texas.

The former executive director of the Arts Council of the Brazos Valley was convicted in November of stealing money.

Romei filed an appeal to that conviction, and was required to get court approval before leaving the state.

Brazos County officials believe Romei plans to live with family in Connecticut.
