Original story:
Multiple College Station police officers responded Wednesday night to a traffic stop on the freeway for what turned out to be an arrest following what was described as a road rage incident.
17 year old Stephen Ray Lindsey of College Station was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Lindsey, who was driving a pickup, is accused of pointing a shotgun at another driver after both allegedly cut the other one off on William D. Fitch between Victoria and Arrington.
The victim relayed the license plate of the pickup and reported that it had turned from Fitch to the freeway going north. The victim also gave a description of the other driver and the weapon that was used.
The first CSPD officer to spot the truck was near Southwest Parkway. Due to the report of a gun being involved, the first officer waited for backup. The truck was stopped on the freeway near the University exit, blocking one lane of northbound traffic.
The driver and two passengers in the truck were detained in handcuffs outside the vehicle while a search was conducted. Officers found two 12 gauge shotguns in the back floorboard along with several boxes of shotgun ammunition.
The two passengers riding with Lindsey, 15 and 17 year old girls, were not arrested and were released.
