Rick Perry Announces PAC Advisory Board

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ Former Texas Governor Rick Perry has unveiled a list of 86 top donors from around his cash-flush home state and the nation.

The Republican was Texas’ longest-serving governor when he left office last month, but is expected to announce a 2016 presidential run as soon as May.

Thursday’s list may be Perry’s attempt to prove that big money isn’t afraid to back his expected second presidential campaign, despite his “oops” past and possible future felony criminal trial.

Perry’s 2012 presidential bid flamed out following his infamous “oops moment” at a debate. He’s also under felony indictment in Austin on abuse-of-power charges.

But Perry says he’ll be a humbler and stronger candidate if he runs again.
