Ribbon Cutting at Wayfair’s New Customer Service Center

Wednesday marked the official ribbon cutting of international online retailer, Wayfair.

City officials, chamber members and Wayfair employees were all on hand Wednesday morning at the company’s new customer service center in Bryan.

The ribbon cutting was preceded with comments from city officials and Co-founder and Co-chairman of the company, Steve Conine.

Conine said the Bryan/College Station team will be focused on sales and service.

“They will take calls for all the different things we sell and different products and they will be focused on service and customers and making sure that we deliver the great experience that our customers know us for,” said Conine.

Conine said Bryan/College Station’s mixed population made it an ideal place for their new location.

“We love being close to great educational institutions, it’s got a really great business community, and it fit a number of different things we were looking for,” said Conine.

Liz Graham, VP of Sales and Service, said during their search for a new location, the most important factor was the talent pool in the community.

“I think we have struck gold here, the service orientation, the friendliness. Customer service is a key differentiator for Wayfair and how we go to market and how we separate ourselves from our competitors and at the end of the day, that all comes down to the employees,” said Graham.

Wayfair will hire approximately 450 employees at the new customer service center located on University east of the freeway.
