Reduced Personnel in Constable’s Office

Already down one officer for the Labor Day weekend, one local law enforcement department also has to plan for a permanent decrease of staff.

That’s facing Brazos County Precinct Two Constable Donald Lampo, who has a deputy on paid leave and the upcoming county budget calls for one less employee.

Deputy Constable Agustin Rubio posted a $10,000 dollar bond Thursday, the day after he was arrested on a kidnapping charge.

Meantime, next year’s proposed county budget calls for reducing the precinct two constable’s staff from nine to eight.

County Judge Duane Peters recently told WTAW all county staff reductions in next year’s budget involved eliminating vacant positions.
