Recent Arrests For Domestic Violence, Property Crimes, Driving Offenses, And Violating Probation

The 24th time a Bryan man is in the Brazos County jail since January 2006, he is accused of threatening to kill his girlfriend. The Bryan police arrest report says multiple officers responded just before midnight last Thursday night (May 8) to an apartment complex to a woman who was described as extremely scared and constantly surveying her surroundings. Almost one hour later, officers found 36 year old Adam Lopez and arrested him for making a terroristic threat and publishing an intimate photo of his girlfriend without her permission. Jail records also show Lopez is being held on two Brazos County district court warrants related to upcoming trials on felony drug charges, and five warrants from Bryan municipal court on traffic and drug paraphernalia charges. As of May 12th, Lopez remains jailed in lieu of bonds totaling $75,000 dollars.

A suburban College Station woman returns to Brazos County jail on theft charges from four counties. A College Station police arrest report says 32 year old Courtney Johnson took two mixers on April 5th from the H-E-B at Tower Point with a combined value of $700 dollars. Online jail records show Johnson is also being held on warrants from Washington, Walker, and Harris counties. Johnson, who is held for theft with multiple prior convictions, went to jail May 9th for the 29th time since January of 2010. As of May 12th, she remains held in lieu of bonds totaling $80,000 dollars.

The Brazos County sheriff’s office releases an arrest report last Friday (May 9) of a Bryan man accused of illegally driving a dump truck on April 30th. Court records show it was the second time in three days that 25 year old Rogelio Bahena was stopped in the same truck. In addition to the April 30th arrest, he is awaiting trial from an April 28th ticket on five traffic charges. The sheriff’s arrest report says Bahena has been convicted six times for no driver’s license, twice for not having a commercial driver’s license, and twice for driving with an invalid license with prior convictions. And court records show he was placed on probation last year after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance. Bahena was released from jail the same day of his latest arrest after posting a $2,000 dollar bond.

Last Saturday (May 10) during the midnight hour, Bryan police responded to a crash south of downtown where the driver was arrested for reckless driving after taking the Texas Avenue curve too fast. The BPD arrest report says the pickup truck struck a light pole, drove on a sidewalk, and made contact with a business building. All the air bags were deployed and the truck was missing the front two wheel assemblies. The investigating officer determined the driver was not intoxicated. There was no mention of injuries to two passengers. After the driver was evaluated at the hospital and cleared of injuries, he was taken to jail. It was the second trip to jail in seven days for 18 year old Jose Huerta Jr. of College Station. He had been out on bond following an arrest by College Station police May 3rd for possessing drug paraphernalia. He was released from jail on the latest charge after posting a $2,000 dollar bond.

A Bryan man who checked in last Friday (May 9) at the Brazos County jail on an arrest warrant shows up intoxicated. One of the deputies mentioned in the sheriff’s arrest report said he smelled alcohol on the man’s breath. And he had a baggie of marijuana. The warrant against 20 year old Darrius Smith, accusing him of violating probation after pleading guilty to evading arrest, marked his ninth time in jail since November 2022. And on April 21st, Smith was indicted by a grand jury on a charge of burglary of a home with the intent to commit a sex offense. That’s one of the reasons cited for Smith violating probation. As of May 12th, Smith remains jailed with no bond set on the motion to revoke probation.
