Public Hearing Friday for Next Year’s Tuition at A&M System Campuses

Texas A&M University and its 11 sister institutions are having to jump through another hoop to set tuition rates for next year.

An all day public hearing wlll be held Friday in College Station.

The President of the flagship campus, Bowen Loftin, told the Faculty Senate recently he supports what he calls an unusual step by the Board of Regents.

Dr. Loftin says past practice has been for campus requests to go through the system’s chief financial officer to the regents.

This year, the chairman of the regents finance committee decided to hear from system institutions and give an opportunity for students, parents, and others to comment.

Comments from President Bowen Loftin to the A&M Faculty Senate April 9, 2012.
