The College Station city council’s first meeting in 2026 includes proposed traffic control changes at a variety of locations.
At Greens Prairie Road and Royder Road, where Greens Prairie elementary school is located, it is proposed to ban right turns on red lights on school days between 7 and 9 a.m. and between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m.
At Greens Prairie Road and Ledgestone Trail, where Pecan Trail intermediate school is located, it is proposed to replace the no turn on red sign to require turning vehicles to stop for pedestrians.
Another proposed ordinance will replace yield signs with stop signs in the Creek Meadows and Mission Ranch neighborhoods along with the James and Puryear intersection in Eastgate and on Lamsburg Lane near Southern Oaks park.
