A man who admitted to assaulting a Bryan police officer during a traffic stop in September 2021 is headed to prison.

Online court records show 32 year old Issac Allen of Texas City entered a plea agreement where he admitted to among other things, not completing required programs, failing to show up for required drug and alcohol testing, using marijuana, and not paying fees.

Allen, who was placed on ten years community supervision in March of 2022, was sentenced October 23rd to three years in prison.

The Bryan police arrest report says the traffic stop was made for someone driving a car with expired registration. Officers learned Allen was wanted on two warrants on misdemeanor charges that were filed in 2018. It took three officers to place Allen into custody. One officer was punched hard enough in elbow to make a smacking sound.
