The College Station police arrest report says 23 year old Antoine Moreno denied taking the car which also had the keys inside.
Moreno was identified through reviewing video from Northgate cameras.
State prison records show Moreno is serving time for evading arrest in Montgomery County.
Brazos County court records show Moreno is awaiting trial for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Bond on the CSPD charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was set at $10,000 dollars.
September 2026 will mark two years since the scheduled opening of the still to be completed construction of the Bryan Midtown Park entertainment complex. The owner of the venue is promoting on its website, a November 2026 opening of what will include a movie theater, bowling, indoor and outdoor pickleball, a restaurant, a brewery, and an outdoor amphitheater and lawn area. The Bryan city council at its June 9 meeting approved without discussion, a third amendment to an economic development agreement with the owner. The only information given during the council meeting was a reference to a promissory note requiring a guarantee from the owner by the close of business on June 19th. WTAW News has asked a city spokesman if this is a new promissory note or if this involves a $2 million dollar loan the council approved in 2024. A divided Brazos County commission approves the unbudgeted purchase of land in front of the sheriff’s office and jail for future expansion. The purchase price of almost $2.5 million dollars is $1 million more than the appraised value. County judge Duane Peters, who was part of the three to one majority vote, said there was no room to negotiate the price. Peters also said the county was too late in two earlier attempts to buy the nearly seven acres at Highway 21 and Sandy Point Road. Also approving the purchase were commissioners Bentley Nettles and Wanda Watson. Voting no was Fred Brown. Chuck Konderla was not at Tuesday’s meeting (June 9). The vote followed comments from two public speakers questioning the timing of the purchase and the price. Bryan police arrest three people on consecutive days in the same neighborhood on drug charges. On Tuesday night (June 9), two Bryan police officers on patrol recognized a woman in a SUV who was arrested the night before. BPD arrest reports say the officers followed the SUV into the parking lot of a convenience store. Officers got out and smelled marijuana coming out of the open sunroof of the SUV. A man who was with the woman came out of the store and saw the officers. After the man refused to stop, he was placed in handcuffs and searched. After officers found $170 dollars that was believed to have come from drug sales, there was a search of the SUV. Officers found six baggies of crack cocaine, a larger piece of crack, 44 individual baggies of K-2, a larger bag containing K-2, and what was described as a large quantity of ecstasy pills. The estimated street value of all the drugs is $3,000 dollars. 48 year old Terrance Greene of Bryan went to jail for the 28th time in 26 years for selling three types of controlled substances and interfering with public duties. Greene was released after posting bonds totaling $78,000 dollars. The woman with Greene, 36 year old Shanta Rayford of Bryan, was arrested June 8 for possessing K-2. She was released from jail after posting a $3,000 dollar bond. She was not arrested when Greene was taken into custody on June 9. A man arrested with Rayford on June 8, 42 year old Steven Morale of Bryan, remains in jail as of June 12 on a charge of possessing ecstasy and an unidentified second controlled substance. Bonds total $13,000 dollars.
