In July 2020, a traffic stop by College Station police for someone who failed to use their turn signal led to the driver’s arrest for possessing 38 pills containing methamphetamine, a jar of marijuana, and $2,000 dollars cash.

In June 2022, the driver appeared in district court where he pleaded guilty and was placed on probation for possessing a controlled substance and in a separate case violating a protection order.

On August 29th, 27 year old Vanquashon Miller of Bryan returned to district court where he pleaded not guilty and was convicted of violating probation in both cases and was sentenced to a total of ten years in prison.

The district attorney’s office issued a news release saying Miller failed to abide by probation conditions in Brazos and Leon counties and earlier this year was convicted in Harris County for making a terroristic threat.

News release from the Brazos County district attorney’s office:

On Friday, August 29, 2025, Vanquashon Miller was sentenced to 10 years in the Texas Department of Corrections after having his probation revoked for Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance 4-200 grams, and Continuous Violation of Bond Conditions.

On July 22, 2020, the defendant was arrested for the felony offense of Manufacturing and Delivery after the College Station Police Department located 38 pills, a scale, jar of marijuana, and $2,000 in cash in the defendant’s car. Lab reports confirmed that pills contained Methamphetamine.

While on bond, the defendant was arrested in November 2021, for a domestic violence assault, Unlawful Restraint and placed on bond conditions prohibiting the defendant from contacting the victim.

In July, 2021, the defendant violated his bond conditions by contacting the victim in his domestic violence case on two or more occasions and was rearrested for Continuous Violations of
Bond Continuous, a felony offense.

On June 30, 2022, the defendant pled to Manufacturing and Delivery PG 1 4g-200g, Assault Family Violence, Unlawful Restraint and Violation of Bond Conditions. The defendant was sentenced to six years probation in each felony offense.

In a hearing to revoke the defendant’s probation, Judge Kyle Hawthorne of the 85th District Court, heard evidence that the defendant failed to abide by his Brazos County probation conditions as well as probation conditions from Leon County.

Evidence presented included the defendant’s failure to report to the probation department as instructed, failure to perform drug testing and other violations, including a new arrest and conviction for Terroristic Threat in Harris County in January 2025. The Court also heard evidence that the defendant was currently serving the remainder of a 12 month sentence for violating his Leon County supervision.

Statement from Brazos County assistant district attorney Tonika Davis: “The defendant in this case was given an opportunity to become a productive member of society and proved that he would not follow the law or the rules set by the Court. As a result, he will spend the next ten years in prison.”
