Prison For Bryan Gang Member

One of three men arrested following gang gunfire outside a Bryan apartment complex in June of last year is headed to prison.

29 year Andy Becerra of Bryan was sentenced to 20 years for engaging in organized criminal activity. That punishment runs at the same time as a conviction for cocaine possession.

According to Assistant Brazos County District Attorney Cory Crenshaw, Becerra entered a plea agreement approved by District Judge J.D. Langley. Crenshaw says charges against two others remain pending.

The trio was arrested following a short chase that began in Bryan at Harvey Mitchell and Villa Maria and ended in College Station on George Bush Drive East.

The gunfire was outside the Forest Park Apartments on Sandy Point Road. Bucerra fired a nine millimeter handgun at a rival gang member that was also in the direction of an innocent bystander. No one was hit by the gunfire.
