Primary Election Leads Brazos County Commissioners To Delay Making A Board Reappointment

The upcoming primary election got in the way of Brazos County commissioners of making a reappointment to a local board.

Bentley Nettles made the motion at the last business meeting (January 27) to delay consideration of Mark Maltsberger’s reappointment to the MHMR (mental health mental retardation authority) of the Brazos Valley board of trustees.

Maltsberger is in a contested Republican primary for county court at law judge number two.

Commissioner Wanda Watson, who is a Democrat, abstained from the vote.

The delay received the support of Republicans on the commissioners court…Nettles, Fred Brown, and Duane Peters.
