AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ Gov. Rick Perry is keeping up his criticism of federal bailout programs with a new Web site his campaign launched — that asks Texans to join an online petition.
The site urges viewers to help “stop the bleeding” in Washington, D.C.
“Sign this petition and add your voice to a growing chorus of Americans who are fed up with Washington and sending a simple message: ‘STOP!'” states the site, which was paid for by Republican Perry’s political campaign.
Perry has been critical of federal bailout and economic stimulus bills pushed during the administrations of former President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama.
He has said if some of the federal stimulus money arrives in Texas he will examine it item by item and support what is beneficial to the state.
