A pedestrian was struck by a train in College Station Thursday morning (November 21)

A Union Pacific spokeswoman tells WTAW News that this happened around 7:15 a.m. on the tracks along Wellborn Road at a location that was not at a crossing.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital and the train crew was not hurt.

In the comments section of the College Station police department’s Facebook page, an 18 year old student was struck. The man was walking near, but not on the train tracks. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and his family was notified.

CSPD’s Facebook page says the intersection of Wellborn and Holleman West was shut down while police and railroad investigators were on the scene.
