Opening Construction Bids For Phase Two Of Fun For All Playground By The End Of August

There are several hundred visitors a day enjoying the first phase of the new Fun For All playground at College Station’s Central Park.

Parks and Recreation director David Schmitz says bids will be opened on phase two by the end of this month with the intent of bringing a recommendation to the city council in September.

Speaking on WTAW’s The Infomaniacs, Schmitz says it’s possible phase two construction, which includes the John David and Carolyn Crow memorial field, could start this fall and be completed about this time next year.

Schmitz says the concept of the park that focuses on people with special needs has been shared with other cities.

Schmitz says national representatives of local service clubs are coming here to learn more.
