Gunfire outside a Bryan home Saturday night resulted in the death of one man and another going to jail.
The victim is identified as 27 year old Jose Guardado-Rivera.
His wife’s uncle, 50 year old Joe Becerra of College Station, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Becerra is held in the Brazos County Jail without bond.
Officers responded just before 10 p-m to a home in the 13 hundred block of Groesbeck, near Eden Street.
One hour later, police found Becerra. According to the arrest report, Becerra was very intoxicated when he told officers that it was a young guy who shot the victim and that he did not own a gun.
Neighbors reported hearing an argument before seeing and hearing one gunshot and Becerra walking away.
Becerra’s Brazos County court records indicate ten prior convicitions dating back to 1995, including failing to register as a sex offender and drunk driving.
