One Dead in Hearne Officer-Involved Shooting

A shooting altercation with Hearne police early Sunday morning left one person dead.

Three subjects had been firing a weapon from a white vehicle when police arrived.

The Texas Rangers are assisting in the investigation.

On Sunday, December 30th 2012 at approximately 2:32am Officers of Hearne Police Department responded to the Columbus Village Apartment complex located at 830 S. Riley St. in Hearne in reference to a large group of people in the parking lot.

Officers were later advised by Hearne Dispatch that three subjects were in a white in color vehicle firing a weapon.

Officers arrived moments later and located a vehicle and subjects fitting the descriptions give.

There was an Officer-involved shooting resulting in the death of a subject.

A weapon was recovered at the scene that does not belong to Officers.

The Texas Rangers are assisting the Hearne Police Department in an ongoing investigation.
