Ohio State University President Gordon Gee has Announced His Retirement

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ Ohio State University President Gordon Gee (gee) has
announced his retirement, days after The Associated Press reported disparaging
comments he made about Notre Dame, Louisville and schools in the Southeastern
Conferece during a Dec. 5 meeting. Gee said Notre Dame was never invited to join
the Big Ten athletic conference because “you just can’t trust those damn
Catholics,” and he also questioned the intelligence of those connected with the
SEC. The 69-year-old Gee said in a teleconference that the furor was only part
of his decision to retire, which he said he had been considering for a while.
