News release from Baylor Scott & White Health:

Baylor Scott & White Health has announced that the name change of its College Station hospital is now complete. Scott & White Hospital – College Station is now Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – College Station. The exciting milestone will be marked with a celebration and activities throughout the day for hospital staff and community dignitaries. The signs with the new name were installed on the outside of the hospital just over a week ago.

“This hospital opened almost three years ago, and today begins a new chapter for the patients of our Bryan and College Station area,” said Jason Jennings, president of the Baylor Scott & White – College Station region. “We have had the opportunity to serve this community since 1985, when we opened our College Station clinic with 22 physicians. Today we draw on expanded resources, advanced technologies and expertise of the Baylor Scott & White Health system – the result of the combination of two preeminent health organizations, both with outstanding reputations. Today we do that proudly under our new name.”

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – College Station is a five-story, 143-bed, fully accredited acute care hospital with an adjacent medical office building for specialty and subspecialty clinic care, all located at the intersection of Texas Hwy 6 and Rock Prairie Road. The hospital opened in August 2013, is now an accredited chest pain center, and offers a wide spectrum of medical and health care services including an emergency department, general and specialty surgery, comprehensive cardiac services (including cardiac catheterization labs), neonatal intensive care unit, inter-operative robotics, and many other specialty services.

The hospital is the latest facility to be branded under the moniker of Baylor Scott & White Health, formed from the 2013 merger between Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Healthcare. The not-for-profit health system, which today is the largest in Texas, has been systematically renaming all of its 48 hospitals across central and north Texas over time to accomplish the task in a fiscally responsible manner.
