College Station fire investigators are looking into the cause of a car fire over the weekend in the Northgate district that spread to a second vehicle and neighboring property.
Battalion chief Robert Mumford says when the driver smelled smoke, he pulled into the parking lot of the Rampart apartments on Nagle.
Mumford says the driver parked between two vehicles then got out. That’s when the car began smoking then caught fire.
The heat from the fire damaged a neighboring pickup, melted a cable T-V line, and ignited a nearby fence on fire.
