No. 9 Aggies Face No. 11 Minnesota in AVCA First Serve

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

The No. 9 Texas A&M volleyball team opens its 2025 campaign versus No. 11 Minnesota at the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s First Serve event Monday evening at the Samford Pentagon with a start time set for 7:30 p.m.

The Aggies embark on their third season under head coach Jamie Morrison’s leadership with the programs second appearance in the AVCA First Serve and first since 1997. The Maroon & White enter the year with momentum on their side, following a trip to the Sweet 16 and a senior led roster.

The 17-member group includes 11 returners, while adding a highly touted freshman class which ranked seventh in the nation and a standout outside hitter from the transfer portal.

Retention of production jumps off the page, as the Aggies held on to 96.8% of their kills from last season and 94.9% of their blocking. Experience is also on their side, as the 11 returning players have 749 games under their belts collectively in their collegiate careers.

Garnering national recognition, Texas A&M enters the season ranked No. 9 in the nation by the AVCA, the highest preseason ranking in program history and first appearance on the preseason poll since 2016.
