No. 23 Aggie Baseball Suffers First Loss to No. 1 UCLA

News release from Texas A&M Athletics: 

No. 23 Texas A&M dropped its first decision of the 2026 campaign to No. 1 UCLA, 11-1, Saturday evening from Globe Life Field.

The Maroon & White (9-1) fell behind early after the Bruins (8-2) plated four runs in the first inning. In the top of the second, Jake Duer put the Aggies on the board with a solo shot to right-center field. UCLA added two runs in the bottom half of the second to extend its lead to five.

The Bruins tallied another run in the fifth and delivered the final blow in the sixth inning with a three-run homer.

Weston Moss (1-1) was charged with the loss after allowing six runs in 2.0 innings pitched. Gavin Lyons tossed 3.0 innings of relief, allowing one earned run while striking out two.
