BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 5 Texas A&M softball team swept LMU, 12-0, in non-conference action, while Mya Perez belted a pair of home runs Sunday at Davis Diamond.
Texas A&M (31-5) struck in the first inning for the third time of the series as Mac Barbara hit an RBI single to score Amari Harper after she reached on a fielder’s choice. Allie Enright made it 2-0 with a bases-loaded walk, while Gracyn Coleman added another run after reaching on a fielding error by the third baseman to give the Aggies a 3-0 lead in the opening frame.
A&M added a pair of runs after back-to-back jacks from Amari Harper and Mya Perez to lead 5-0 after the second inning.
The Aggies hung another crooked frame in the third scoring three runs on four hits to enter run-rule territory, 8-0. KK Dement singled to lead off the inning and scored after Coleman hit an RBI-double to right center. Kramer Eschete followed with a single, before stealing second and later scoring on Harper’s single to left field. The Aggies loaded the bases after Perez walked and Barbara was hit-by-pitch, while Wooley followed with an RBI-walk.
Ol’ Sarge’s charges continued to stay hot at the dish adding four more in the fourth off five hits, including three extra base hits. Dement led off with a double and scored after Frankie Vrazel hit an RBI-single up the middle. Harper registered her third hit of the game with an RBI-double, while Perez cleared the bases with her second round tripper of the day.
All-American Emiley Kennedy shutdown the Lions for her third shutout of the season, while going the distance for the 10th time. Kennedy struck out eight batters in five innings without allowing a free pass and only two hits. LMU (14-20) led the game off with a hit, before Kennedy sat down the next eight batters before the second hit of the game.

NOTES
- Emiley Kennedy moved to 11-3 on the season, while earning the 60th win and 15th shutout of her career. The senior struck out at least one batter in every inning, including three in the opening frame and two in the third inning.
- Mya Perez recorded her team-leading fifth three-hit game of the season and 14th multi-RBI game. The sophomore hit two home runs in the same game for the first time in her career bringing her season total to 10 round trippers. Perez finished the weekend going 6-for-8 with two home runs, four RBI, four runs and two walks.
- Amari Harper went 3-for-4, including a home run for the second consecutive game, a double and three RBI. The junior added four runs, setting an Aggie season high and the first player to score four runs in a game since Jazmine Hill at Alabama last season. Harper led the team with eight runs, five RBI and two doubles in the series.
- Harper and Perez hit back-to-back jacks in the second inning, marking the first time Texas A&M has done so since the season opener. The Aggies have belted a home run in a season-long five consecutive games.
- Freshman KK Dement recorded her seventh multi-hit game of the season going 2-for-4, including a double and two runs.
- Senior Allie Enright extended her on-base streak to a career-high 13 games after she walked in a run in the first inning.
- Texas A&M recorded a team-high 15 hits, while the 12 runs is the 13th game to score in double-digits. The Aggies posted crooked numbers in each inning, while it was the 11th game this season to win via run-rule.
- No scorigami. Tonight is the 14th time the Aggies have won 12-0 in program history and the second this season after defeating George Washington, 12-0, in five innings on Feb. 28.
