New Nature-Focused Non-Profit

There’s a new non-profit organization aiming to get folks back involved with nature.

Spokesman Chad Murphy says the whole focus of the Millican Reserve, located between College Station and Millican, is to build and promote healthy communities by letting local groups experience nature at the 2,500 acre property through hike and bike trails, art, wildlife, gardens and activities.

Murphy says they are currently contacting local like-minded organizations, such as birdwatching, kayaking, disc golf and and equestrian clubs.

He says 1,o00 acres will be used for the activities, with the rest dedicated to conservation.

Some acres will be used for housing, and the reserve also has a large agricultural and natural gardening component.
