Brazos County’s new health department director, Santos Navarette, introduced himself to the College Station city council during the council’s meeting on November 19, 2018.

As Brazos County approaches a population of 250,000, Navarette talked about how that changes the designation from a medium sized to a large health department by state standards.

Navarette also brought up the importance of public health partnerships and his plans to do a community health assessment next year.

The new director moved here from Abilene during the summer, taking over for Ken Bost, who retired after 34 years.
