TEXARKANA, Texas (AP) _ A 17-year-old northeast Texas girl has been charged as an adult with three capital murder counts in the deaths of a Texarkana mother and her two children.
Rachel Nicole Pittman was booked Tuesday into the Bi-State Justice Building jail in Texarkana, Texas.
Bond is set at $3 million. Online jail records do not list an attorney for the Redwater girl.
She’s accused in the May 11 deaths of 34-year-old Amanda Doss and her two children, 11-year-old Guinevere Doss and 8-year-old Texas Johnson. Bodies of the three were pulled from the charred ruins of their home in Redwater, a rural community 13 miles southwest of Texarkana.
If convicted, Pittman could be sentenced to death or life imprisonment without parole.
A gag order prevents investigators and attorneys from commenting on the case.
