NCAA Provides New Guidelines for NIL

The NCAA is shaking up the rules for Name, Image and Likeness.

The Division I Board of Directors published new guidelines Monday to clarify that boosters and NIL focused companies can not have any contact with prospective student athletes, their family members or their representatives.

The response comes amid growing concern that some boosters and collectives are offering money as incentive to attend a particular school.

NIL legislation was universally passed in July of 2021.
