Navasota Police Stop And Arrest A Trucker Suspected Of Reckless Driving And Pointing A Gun At A Motorist In Brazos County

Thanks to a WTAW listener who called and texted after seeing law enforcement around a semi in a Navasota parking lot Tuesday morning (February 3).

According to a city of Navasota news release, the driver of the semi was arrested for possessing a gun as a convicted felon and possessing THC products.

The news release also says possible charges of reckless driving and making a terroristic threat will be referred to the Brazos County district attorney’s office.

That’s after Navasota police dispatch received several calls from motorists on Highway 6 in Brazos County.

One caller reported the semi was tailgating and swerving at their vehicle in a construction zone. The caller reported as they were exiting the highway, the semi passed with the driver pointing a gun at them.

On February 3, 2026, at approximately 10:20 a.m., Navasota Police Dispatch received several calls reporting a reckless driving 18-wheeler traveling south on Highway 6 in Brazos County.

One caller advised that the truck was tailgating and swerving at their vehicle while passing through a construction zone.

The caller stated they exited the highway out of concern for their safety. While doing so, the driver of the 18-wheeler allegedly pointed a firearm at them.

Navasota Police officers responded to the area and located the 18-wheeler exiting Highway 6 onto North LaSalle. A felony traffic stop was conducted in the 500 block of North LaSalle, and the driver, Jordy Suljanovic, 24, of Houston, was detained without incident.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a firearm and THC products. Mr. Suljanovic was also found to have at least one prior felony conviction. He was booked into the Grimes County Jail for Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 2, 4 to 400 grams.

Possible charges of reckless driving and terroristic threat will be referred to the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office.
