Update:
A Navasota junior high school student who was removed from a classroom Thursday after bringing a pellet gun to school was not on campus on Friday.
A classmate notified administrators of the weapon, which was found in a backpack.
Superintendent Stu Musick told WTAW News what will happen to the student depends on the outcome of the police department’s investigation.
Quoting Dr. Musick, “The type of consequences and the length of placement sometimes depends on the type of charges that are filed.”
The superintendent also stated in an e-mail that “There are two sides to issues like this that include any charges that may be filed by the Navasota Police Department as well as the consequences from the school. Bringing any type of weapon, including a pellet gun, is a violation of the Student Code of Conduct and will involve student discipline and consequences.”
