Multiple Fire Calls In Recent Days In College Station And Bryan

A backyard campfire got away from residents of a College Station home early Sunday morning. College Station firefighters report about eight feet of a privacy fence on Adrienne was damaged. The residents stopped the fire from spreading, then firefighters completely extinguished the fire.

College Station firefighters responded to two reports of structure fires which turned out to be something else. Last Thursday night at an upstairs apartment on Bosque there was a smoke scare caused by an overflowing washing machine that may have caused a short and the smell of smoke in the downstairs apartment. There was no fire or smoke. Firefighters helped remove the water.

Friday night on Kimber, CSFD discovered what turned out to be the smell of H-VAC dust that was mistaken for smoke.

At Century Square Friday afternoon, CSFD responded to a hotel guest’s report of a smoldering dumpster fire. Nearly employees were dousing the dumpster with buckets of water when firefighters arrived.

Bryan police and fire are investigating a house fire that took place Saturday during the midnight hour on the city’s north side. Police report a hit and run driver went off Woodville Road near Northwood Drive and struck a house. The house caught fire. Police report none of the occupants were injured. The driver is not in custody. WTAW News has asked for additional information from the Bryan fire department.
