Montgomery County Trio Arrested in Boy’s Death

HOUSTON (AP) _ Three people are facing child abuse charges in connection to the fatal beating of a 3-year-old Conroe boy whose blended family had been investigated four times by Texas Child Protective Services.

Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies, responding to a call, found the boy not breathing last night at his home in Conroe, about 40 miles north of Houston.

Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Edie Connelly says a preliminary autopsy determined that the boy died of severe blunt trauma to the abdomen.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s office says the boy’s aunt 26-year-old Crystal Tijerina, her 30-year-old boyfriend Noah Herrera and 48-year-old Steven Paul Chauvin, were arrested and charged today with one count each of injury to a child.
