Bryan police reported major congestion on the freeway following a crash Friday morning in the northbound lanes north of the Briarcrest exit.
The drivers of two trucks sustained minor injuries and were treated at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.
Investigators say a Ford 450 flat bed truck was in the right hand lane and a Ford 150 pickup was in the right hand shoulder passing the 450.
As the 150 merged back into the main lane of traffic it clipped the 450. The 150 spun out into the median and the 450 drove into the creek bed and struck a concrete wall.
Police ticketed the driver of the 150, Matthew Cordes of Bastrop, for failing to pass to the right safely.
Police did not release the identity of the other driver.
The crash, which occured Friday morning at 8, tied up northbound freeway traffic from Briarcrest back to University until 11 a.m.
