Memorial Day Power Outage in Bryan

2,000 BTU customers were without power for nearly one hour in the heat of Memorial Day afternoon.

The cause was a transformer problem at the Shady Lane substation located east of Texas and north of University.

Most of those affected were along Texas and 29th.

A total of 3,700 customers initially lost power at 5:17 p.m.

The remaining 1,700 customers had outages lasting between three and 13 minutes.
