McCullers, Astros quiet Dodgers and their fans

Lance McCullers Jr. tossed 6 2/3 shutout innings and the Houston Astros quieted the Los Angeles Dodgers, and their crowd, Tuesday night 3-0.

Fans at Chavez Ravine got their first crack at Houston since the uncovering of the 2017 sign-stealing scandal, the year in which the ‘Stros bested the Dodgers in the World Series.

Yordan Alvarez belted a two-run homer for Houston, which extends its lead in the AL West to 5.5 games over Oakland.

They’ll take on new Dodgers’ acquisition Max Scherzer Wednesday night when the two teams square off again at 8:40 p.m.
