May Storm Damage Costs City of Bryan $1 Million & FEMA Announces Application Deadlines

Damage from the Bryan tornado and floods in late May has cost the city so far around $1 million dollars.

The city’s chief financial officer, Joe Hegwood, says an estimated $700,000 spent by BTU and $300,000 from the city are paid out of operating reserves.

Hegwood, on WTAW’s The Infomaniacs, expects FEMA to reimburse the city for 75 percent of its expenses…though it may be a few years before the city sees any money.
