Margot out at home, Rays unable to steal Game 5 from Dodgers

By STEPHEN HAWKINS

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ Manuel Margot and the Tampa Bay Rays came up short in their attempt to steal Game 5 and go ahead in this World Series. Margot was thrown out trying to steal home in the fourth inning, and the Rays never got that close to scoring again in a 4-2 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. LA has a 3-2 Series lead. Needing a win to extend the Fall Classic, the Rays have 2018 AL Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell set to start Game 6 on Tuesday night. Tampa Bay trailed 3-2 in Game 5 when Margot tried to steal home against Clayton Kershaw. The Dodgers’ ace alertly threw to catcher Austin Barnes in time to get Margot.
