Man Shot in Face, Woman Arrested

A shooting at a home in southern Brazos County has a man hospitalized in critical condition and a woman in jail.

According to Brazos County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Mike Wilson, the man shot in the face was identified as 33 year old Benjamin Renfroe. Arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was 25 year old Samantha Hagar.

Wilson says deputies responded to a call shortly after midnight Friday to College Station Medical Center where Renfroe had been taken by private vehicle.

Renfroe was later flown to Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Wilson says information collected led deputies to the home Renfroe and Hagar share at 1506 Pioneer Street, north of the Millican area.

Hagar was arrested and is jailed in lieu of a $40,000 bond.

Investigators have not shared if they’ve been told what led to the shooting.
