College Station police continue to look for a known suspect who is accused of firing a gun that struck a man Wednesday night.
The victim, who was treated at a local hospital and released, was shot at Parkway Circle apartments on Southwest Parkway between Wellborn and Welsh…but he was found at a convenience store a couple of blocks away.
The victim and suspect knew each other, but what led to several gunshots being fired is not known.
News release from College Station police:
On 10/24/2018 at approximately 2031 hours, officers with the College Station Police Department responded to 401 Southwest Parkway (Parkway Circle Apartments) in reference to numerous 911 calls reporting several gunshots in the area. At the same time that officers were responding to the location of the reported gunshots, another 911 call came from 1800 Southwest Parkway (Max Food Mart) reporting that a male came into the business with a gunshot wound.
Additional officers with the College Station Police Department located a male at the Max Food Mart and began to administer medical aid until the College Station Fire Department arrived and took over care of the victim. The male was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he was treated for non-incapacitating injuries and released.
After an investigation, it was determined that an altercation took place at Parkway Circle Apartments between the victim and a known suspect. During the altercation a firearm was discharged, striking the victim one time. The victim then fled to the Max Food Mart and called 911.
At this time a person of interest has been identified. The investigation has been turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division.
