A man from Hearne found himself behind bars after a traffic stop Monday night. Reports from Bryan Police say they saw a vehicle swerving in the 2100 block of S. Texas Ave. When they pulled over the vehicle, the driver was initially unresponsive, with the car in drive and his foot on the brake pedal.
Officers made entry to the vehicle to put it into park and noticed a cold to the touch beer in the center console.
When 46-year-old Jose Arnulfo Tzunun Bulux came to, they say he seemed surprised and unsure of where he was.
The man says he driving home from a quinceanera in College Station where he had only one beer over two hours. Officers performed a field sobriety test, which he failed. Breathalyzer tests showed that Bulux had an alcohol concentration level in excess of 0.15.
He was booked for Driving While Intoxicated BAC > 0.15 and taken to the Brazos County Jail. He remains behind bars on an immigration hold from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
