Man Arrested After Falling Asleep Inside Texas A&M Building

The Bryan Police Department continues to actively investigate the August 8th shooting death of 14-year-old D’Antwon Miles. Investigators have conducted numerous interviews, reviewed available evidence, and followed investigative leads and tips, but they are asking for the public’s help. They are looking for anyone with firsthand knowledge of the events leading up to the shooting, the shooting itself, or the individuals involved. Even if someone believes investigators may already have the information, they need you to come forward. Information provided by individuals with direct knowledge of what occurred may be critical to confirming investigative information, establishing the sequence of events, and holding accountable those who are responsible. BPD says the understand some individuals may be reluctant to speak with law enforcement, but remind everyone that a 14-year-old member of the community lost their life. The Wickson Creek Special Utility District has implemented Emergency Stage 1 Irrigation Restrictions. Stage 1 Irrigation Restrictions have put into place due to the excessive heat and high water usage, primarily from automatic lawn sprinkler systems. Restrictions are mandatory and aim to reduce non-essential water use and encourage conservation. It helps maintain water system pressure and replenish water reserves. Please adjust your irrigation systems to meet the following requirements, so more severe restrictions are not necessary. The goal is to reduce overall water use by 15% through conservation by spreading usage across multiple days. They say three of their four Stage 2 triggers have been met, and the fourth is not far off. They’ve been pumping over 5-million gallons per day (MGD) for the last week and the Wellborn side of the system starts to struggle once they get over 5 MGD. Stage 2 allows for 2 watering days per week based on the last digit of your address: 1, 4, 6, and 7 water Monday and Thursday. 2, 5, and 8 water Tuesday and Friday. 0, 3, and 9 water Wednesday and Saturday. Two people were arrested on Sunday after police say they worked together to steal more than $270 in merchandise from the Target on Texas Avenue. 20-year-old Karim Mohamed Ezzat and 20-year-old Isabel Victoria Martinez were using the self-checkout and placed un-scanned merchandise into their bags. Their actions were caught on video. Unpaid items included jewelry, clothing, and other products with a combined value of $271.50. Both were arrested and charged with Theft of Property of $100 or more, but less than $750. They are each free on $3,000 bond.
