College Station Police Investigating A Pedestrian Who Dies After Being Struck By A City Garbage Truck

College Station police report a pedestrian died after being struck Tuesday morning (October 15) by a city of College Station garbage truck. This took place at the Lake Walk at Traditions apartment complex off Turkey Creek Road north of Easterwood Airport. CSPD has its accident reconstruction, criminal investigations, and crime scene teams on site. The name of the person who died was identified as 50 year old Hilaire Kallendorf of College Station. Following the death, the city of College Station cancelled trash pickup for the rest of Tuesday. The city’s social media says trash collection will resume Wednesday, and those scheduled collections are pushed back a day. The city of College Station issued the following statement: “We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life involving a City of College Station solid waste vehicle this morning. Our sincere and heartfelt condolences and prayers go to the family and all involved. The City of College Station is investigating how the tragedy occurred and will provide more details later.”

Texas A&M’s chief academic officer apologizes to the faculty senate for not getting their feedback before deciding to eliminate 52 minor degree and certificate programs. Provost Alan Sams told faculty senate members multiple times that he, A&M’s president, and the senate speaker will discuss reversing his decision. Sams said there was no external political pressure to cancel programs that he determined had little or no enrollment. Faculty senate speaker Angie Hill Price asked senate members to keep their constituents in the loop. College Station Police Arrest A Bryan Man Following A Standoff On Charges Of Breaking Into An Apartment And Stabbing A Woman

A stabbing inside a College Station apartment Monday night (October 14) resulted in a woman going to the hospital for treatment of wounds to her face, neck, hand, and back. The College Station police arrest report says a man entered her apartment by breaking down a glass door which was completely removed from the doorway and hanging partially into the kitchen. The stabbing was witnessed by two boys, one who was the 16 year old son of the victim and the suspect. CSPD’s Facebook page says 37 year old Terrence Foley Sr. of Bryan was arrested following a standoff in his motel room with CSPD SWAT officers. As of Tuesday afternoon (October 15), Foley was jailed in lieu of bonds totaling $200,000 dollars on charges of burglary with the intent to commit a felony and family violence aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. At the time of the stabbing, online court records show Foley was out of jail on bond awaiting trials on felony drug and weapons charges that took place in November of 2021.
