DETROIT (AP) _ Justin Tucker may have saved the Baltimore Ravens’ season while
damaging the Detroit Lions’ postseason hopes on Monday night.
Tucker’s sixth field goal of the night was a career-long, 61-yard kick with 38
seconds left as the Ravens downed the Lions 18-16. The go-ahead boot came less
than two minutes after Matthew Stafford threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Joseph
Fauria, putting the Lions ahead 16-15.
Baltimore rookie Matt Elam iced the victory by grabbing Stafford’s third
interception of the game.
The 8-6 Ravens still control the AFC second and final wild-card berth and are
within one game of first-place Cincinnati in the AFC North.
The Lions fall to 7-7, putting them one game behind first-place Chicago and a
half-game in back of Green Bay in the NFC North.
